Extractions / Removal of Tooth

An extraction means to have a tooth removed, usually because of cavaties, trauma or crowding.

This is regular type of extractions that a lot of patients have experienced in the past.

The advantage of this extraction type is that healing is quicker.

If you need an extraction, your dentist will first numb the area to lessen any discomfort. The tooth is loosened and removed with a foreceps. After the extraction, your dentist will advise you of what post extraction regimen to follow.

Here are some tips to follow to make recovery easier:

  1. Take cold and soft diet
  2. Don’t smoke and rinse your mouth vigorously
  3. Avoid drinking through a straw for 24 hours

Removal of Wisdom Tooth:

It is a process where the soft tissue manipulation is required to completely remove a tooth. It is a simple dental extraction as described but with added procedures in certain difficult situations.
